Rebecca McLaughlin is gaining a reputation for producing well written and well-argued books on the Christian faith.
This book addresses four questions:
Is Jesus’ life historical?
Is Jesus’ death ethical?
Is Jesus’ death credible?
Is Jesus’ offer desirable?
I like the way that the author addresses these questions in a clear and honest way. The arguments are practical and full of personal examples and applications.
There is something refreshing about the way the author does her apologetics in a disarming narrative style. Stories, as she reminds us of are a great way to communicate hard things in a way that people can understand.
Yet, having read several of her books I wonder whether they are designed to be most useful for bolstering the faith of those who are already Christians, rather than as a challenge to those who are not Christians, or might be sceptical or hostile to the gospel.
Get yourself a copy, read it to remind yourself of how compelling the Easter message is, then pray about a non-Christian to whom you could pass it on.
