Jade Walker describes how she came to faith when she attended a friend’s baptism, reports churchofengland.org
I didn’t grow up in a Christian home and had no interest in church.
I was invited to a friend’s baptism and wasn’t sure what to expect. When I walked into the church, and heard the sermon and the worship, I had this overwhelming feeling I hadn’t felt before. It was like a light being switched on.
I felt such love, support, and pure joy, that I never knew was missing from my life. I had an overwhelming feeling of love and acceptance. It was just incredible. I walked in with no faith and walked out wanting more. So I went on an Alpha course and have been going to church ever since.
I have a lot of health issues and when I am struggling and in pain, I know that I am not alone and that God is next to me, helping me. I feel Him with me every day. He is incredible.
Jade Walker is from Devon. Her story is part of the Diocese of Exeter This is My Story photo exhibition, a series of personal testimonies of faith. The exhibition is touring churches and schools in the county.
